Pitches 56 - 62

Remember this was what the pitches between 56 - 62 used to look like!! (sloping!! )

What an improvement!

Many thanks to Dad for his vision to make this area more usable!

As these pitches could only really be used for tents as when touring caravans went on these pitches we had to chock them up on the far side to make them level! Not any more!!

Turfing on pitch 56

Many thanks to Elliott from Hillcroft Turf who has worked really hard in adverse weather condtions (-2 degrees) some days!

He has made an amazing job of the turf it looks like a bowling green!!

Pitches 56 - 62

A closer view of these pitches from 56 - 62 as you can see the gabion baskets break up this area making it a focal point for the middle of the field.

Pitches 56 - 62 will only be used for motorhomes and campervans.

Pitches 49 - 55 will be used by Touring caravans and Motorhomes.

You can see in the background the new Tennyson caravans temporarily using the field as a 'car park'!

Pitches 56 - 62

This row has now been completed and looks really nice. The gabion baskets compilment this area and it helps to break up the field to provide interest.

Grass bank below pitch 56

The bank below 56 - 62 has also been turfed to finish off this section and it looks really nice

pitch 56

This is the last pitch left to be turfed in the new middle section of the field. This row between 56 - 62 will only be used for Motorhomes.

New Tennyson caravans

This an external shot of the new Tennyson static caravans. They have been temporarily parked on the camping field as we have accumilated a build up of static caravans in the main car-park !! So the camping field is currently being used as a ''temporary carpark'' for static caravans!!

Once the weather gets alittle warmer they will be re-located into the Orchard.

Internal door of the toilet block

The external and internal doors have been handcrafted on the island by 'The Joinery Shop' They have made a beautiful job. Thank you very much!

The doors have been made out of a hardwood called Terminalia Ivorensis ( idigbo for short )!

(don't worry I can't say it either!! )

The entrance to the building looks really impressive now as the design of the doors makes it a real feature in itself. The wood has been preserved with natural oils to bring out the varing shades and hues.

Ladies new toilet block

A wider view of the ladies in the new toilet block.

All the partitions have now been built and the second fix has begun. The tiler will continue working around the base line and then we are having mosaic tiles to break up the vastness of white tiles otherwise it will be boring just to look at a blank wall!
