All the pitches have now been created in the 'Meadow Bluebell' area - and we are now waiting for the roads to settle and then we will lay the final layer, erect the fencing and then plant this area. It will be a really sheltered location and a real suntrap!

Creating the new roadway

We began by clearing away the undergrowth and topsoil to create the new roadway.

Improvements have begun!!

We began work at the end of September to improve the camping field. We have begun to develop the 'meadow area' with hardstanding and super pitches.

We have now closed for the season and we would just like to thank everyone who came to stay with us this year, we really appreciate your custom, and we look forward to seeing those who have re-booked next year

Mr Moor hen

Even the moor hen came up today from the stream in the meadow to look for some crumbs!
Yesterday the redheaded woodpecker was on the bird feeder again but I wasn't quick enough to take a photo!
We also have some baby wagtails that have just flown the nest and they are so cute! We should also have some baby blue tits soon as they are using the bird box by the house and again I haven't managed to take a photo of the parents coming in and out of the box as they are so quick!

Mr B

Mr B came right into the kitchen today looking for some breadcrumbs! he is really cheeky!!

Fred and Freda

I've nicknamed them Fred and Freda!

Triumph Club

Exhibiting their pride and Joys!

21st annual gathering of the Triumph Club.

The 21st Annual Triumph Bank Holiday gathering was another great success. All who came enjoyed the weekend. They were treated to entertainment by local celebrities Randini & Derek Sandy on the saturday night and a Quiz on the Sunday. The evenings went very well, no doubt helped by Fuggle De Dum & Wight Knight real ale which was requested as a special in the bar!
We would like to thank the Triumph Club for coming, it is a pleasure to hold this event and we look forward to the national gathering and the friends we have made over the years as well as the new members, roll on 2011
May all your spark plugs keep sparking for the year ahead! and all your oil seals remain intact!! :-)

Cyril Red Squirrel

I looked out of the kitchen window this morning, and Cyril Squirrel was busy hanging upside down on the bird feeder!! He had climbed down the rope, attached himself to the feeder, held on and managed to pinch some of the birds nuts! But alas by the time I'd got my camera he was gone!

This is Mr B

This is Mr B

He was very cheeky the other day. Our back door was open and I went inside the kitchen to find him browsing around!! He'd already had his breakfast outside but it seemed that wasn't enough!

Wednesday, 3 February 2010

Mr Blackbird is getting more brave by the day, he waits on the doorstep every morning for his breakfast. We are thinking of having a bird flap installed so he can come in and help himself but not sure if Bob the dog would be too keen on that!

The snow has finally gone!

The snow has finally gone now!

We can finally get back to our winter re-furbishments.

At present we are currenly updating and modenising the toilets in the bar area.

The bar area has also had a lick of paint and new carpets so it will be nice and fresh for this season.

Too cold to dip your toe in the pool today!

We have had 6 - 8 inches of snow and all the children are loving it as they have all been off school and are sleighing down the hills! They should be back to school tomorrow as most of the major roads are now open. Every morning there were different animal footprints in the snow which was nice to see and all the small birds were waiting every morning for their nuts and bread.

Snow Wight!

It began to snow last Wednesday and we are still covered in the lovely white stuff!! It is the worst snowfall the island has seen for 30 years and I'm sure for most of the country!

But you know what they say! Cold winters! warm summers!! so I hope the forcasters are right!

Roll on the summer if so ! :-)
This is the main carpark and doesn't usually look like this! But I think it looks very tranquil - the snow has a 'wow' factor until you want to get out!

Sunday, 10 January 2010

The Snow is here!

We are under 4" of snow! Any camping wanted, we have spaces! :-)
